ABREGE Matériau composite hydroexpansible, sa préparation et com- position pour la mise en oeuvre de celle-ci, ainsi que ses utilisations Ce matériau composite comprend un support solide plat muni, sur au moins une de ses faces, d'un revêtement avec une forte proportion d'une poudre de polymère hydroexpansi- ble, fixée sur le support au moyen d'un liant hydrosoluble, le revêtement étant essentiellement constitué de : - 95 à 55 % en poids de poudre de polymère hydroex- pansible ; - 5 à 23 % en poids de liant hydrosoluble ; et - 0 à 22 X en poids d'agent tensio-actif. Ce matériau hydroexpansible peut avantageusement être utilisé en médecine, chirurgie, agriculture et surtout comme agent d'étanchéité dans les câbles, notamment électri- ques. La figure 2 montre comment, dans un câble, ce matériau (11,13) forme un anneau d'étanchéité (13) autour du point d'infiltration de l'eau, empêchant ainsi sa propagation longitudinale.
