ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A double sash arrangement for a composite window wherein an outer substantially L-shaped hollow sash member and a substantially T-shaped hollow inner sash member are secured to each other by hinges or the like. A pair of projections are provided on mutually facing sides of the inner and outer sash members for interlocking the sash members with respect to each other. The projections at the outer sash member fit into an open groove formed by the projections on the inner sash member. A height of the projections at the outer sash member is larger than a height of the projections of the inner sash member. The projections of the inner sash member have formed there- between an outwardly flaring groove so that the sashes, after an insertion into each other, are in contact substan- tially along end faces of the projections of the outer sash.
