The invention relates to a composition, additive, product for controlling the growth of fungi or mold germinating from fungal spores that is adapted to be added to an aqueous system comprising a salt of formic acid and a method for controlling growth of spores of specific fungi to the vegetative state by introducing a salt of formic acid to an aqueous system forming a mixture, applying the mixture to a surface where fungal spore growth control is desired, and drying the surface with the mixture disposed thereon, thereby forming an ionic lattice on the surface that prevents fungal spore growth to a vegetative state.

L'invention se rapporte à une composition, un additif, ainsi qu'un produit destiné à lutter contre la croissance de champignons ou de moisissures germant à partir de spores de champignons qui est adapté pour s'ajouter à un système aqueux comprenant un sel d'acide formique et un procédé pour lutter contre la croissance de spores de champignons spécifiques jusqu'à l'état végétatif par introduction d'un sel d'acide formique à un système aqueux formant un mélange, par application du mélange sur une surface où il est souhaité de lutter contre la croissance des spores de champignons, et par séchage de la surface où le mélange est appliqué, formant ainsi un réseau ionique sur la surface qui empêche la croissance des spores de champignons jusqu'à un état végétatif.
