ABSTRACT A wood treating composition and method for impregnating wood. The composition comprises a) from 5 to 40 weight percent of a wood preservative such as penta- chlorophenol, b) from 2 to 60 weight percent of a glycol, polyglycol, or glycol ether dissolved or dispersed in a halogenated hydrocarbon solvent of 1-2 carbon atoms. The composition is useful for restoring depleted wood treating solution to its original composition.
