The invention relates to the utilization of therapeutic agents inhibiting the production of tumoral necrosis factor (TNF) and interleukin 6 (IL-6), which induce high levels of interleukin 4 (IL-4), in the treatment of endotoxic shock and inflammatory and autoimmune diseases in mammals. Said agents are the vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP), the pituitary adenylate cyclase- activating peptide (PACAP) and their corresponding fragments and derivatives.
L'invention concerne l'utilisation d'agents thérapeutiques qui inhibent la production du facteur de nécrose tumorale (TNF) et de l'interleukine 6 (IL-6) et qui induisent des niveaux élevés d'interleukine 4 (IL-4), afin de traiter le choc endotoxique et des maladies inflammatoires et auto-immunes chez des mammifères. Ces agents sont le peptide intestinal vasoactif (VIP), le peptide hypophysaire activant l'adénylcyclase (PACAP), leurs fractions et leurs dérivés correspondants.
