Compositions containing a protease inhibitor and methods of use and production are described. The compositions contain an effective amount of a protease inhibitor in a carrier or diluent and are used for the treatment of inflammatory or hyperproliferic mucocutaneous disorders. The carrier or diluent is preferably a gelling agent, and the composition is a topical gel formulation containing alpha 1-antitrypsin in an aqueous liquid or viscous gel formulation.

L'invention porte sur des compositions contenant un inhibiteur de protéases et sur leurs procédés d'utilisation et de production. Lesdites compositions, qui contiennent une dose efficace d'inhibiteur de protéases dans un excipient ou un diluant s'utilisent pour le traitement de troubles inflammatoires ou d'hyperprolifération mucocutanée. L'excipient ou le diluant sont de préférence un agent gélifiant, et la composition est un gel topique contenant de l'alpha 1-antitrypsine dans un liquide aqueux ou un gel visqueux.
