Abstract of the Disclosure A reinforcing agent for paper is disclosed comprising a solution of silicate and an oxy-boron compound. The solution, which is prepared by combining suitable sources of SiO2, B2O3, Na2O and water, is used to coat and/or impregnate paper to provide increased strength. The impregnated paper also does not lose strength when exposed to moisture. 13
