Provided is a method for coloring and, optionally, preserving wood and wood products. The method comprises application of pigment dispersions, and optionally biocide dispersions, to wood such that the wood is impregnated. A composition for coloring and, optionally, preserving wood is disclosed, comprising dispersions of micro nized pigment and, optionally, micronized biocide.
