This invention comprises an acidic aqueous solution for treating metal substrates to improve the adhesion bonding and corrosion protection which comprises effective amounts of water soluble trivalent chromium compounds, fluorozirconates, fluoro~metallic compounds, zinc compounds, thickeners, surfactants, and at least about 0.001 mole per liter of the acidic solution of at least one polyhydroxy and/or carboxylic compound as the stabilizing agent for the aqueous solution.

L'invention concerne une solution aqueuse acide permettant de traiter des substrats métalliques afin d'améliorer leur liaison par adhérence et leur résistance à la corrosion. Ladite solution comprend des quantités efficaces de composés de chrome trivalents solubles dans l'eau, de fluorozirconates, de composés fluoro-métalliques, de composés de zinc, d'épaississants, de tensioactifs et au moins environ 0,001 mole par litre de la solution acide d'au moins un composé polyhydroxy et/ou carboxylique utilisé comme agent de stabilisation de la solution aqueuse.
