A b s t r a c t Composition for the preservation of wood containing a wood preser- vative, such as a boron compound or a fluorine compound, in a poly- mer or polymer composition, which upon contact with water releases the wood preservative. Said composition is introduced into a hole in the wood or in a wood construction, whereafter the hole is sealed.
