A bath for the treatment of DI cans that contains phosphate ions, at least one of zirconium and titanium, oxidizing agent at no more than 500 ppm, and fluorides at no more than 2,000 ppm as fluorine, and that has a pH of 2.0 to 4.0 is useful for treating the surface of both aluminum and tinplate cans prior to the painting/printing thereof.

Un bain pour le traitement des boîtes en tôle de fer blanc et d'aluminium produite par étirage-laminage contient au moins un composé du zirconium ou du titane, un agent oxydant en une quantité ne dépassant pas 500 ppm et des fluorures en une quantité (exprimée en fluor) ne dépassant pas 2.000 ppm. Son pH est de 2,0 à 4,0. Ce bain est utile pour le traitement de la surface de boîtes en fer blanc ou en aluminium avant l'application de peinture/vernis ou avant l'impression.
