The invention concerns compositions for trapping NOx. In a first embodiment, the composition comprises a supported phase containing manganese and at least another element selected among terbium, gadolinium, europium, samarium, neodymium and praseodymium and a support based on cerium oxide or a mixture of cerium oxide and zirconium oxide. In a second embodiment, the composition comprises a supported phase and a support of the same type as for the first embodiment. The invention is characterised in that manganese and potassium are brought by potassium permanganate. In another embodiment, the composition consists essentially of manganese and cerium oxide. Said compositions can be used in a process for treating gases for reducing nitrogen oxide emission.
L'invention concerne des compositions du type pièges à NOx. Selon un premier mode de réalisation, la composition comprend une phase supportée contenant du manganèse et au moins un autre élément choisi parmi le terbium, le gadolinium, l'europium, le samarium, le néodyme et le praséodyme et un support à base d'oxyde de cérium ou d'un mélange d'oxyde de cérium et d'oxyde de zirconium. Selon un second mode de réalisation, la composition comprend une phase supportée et un support du même type que pour le premier mode et elle est caractérisée en ce que le manganèse et le potassium sont apportés par le permanganate de potassium. Selon un autre mode de réalisation, la composition est constituée essentiellement de manganèse et d'oxyde de cérium. Ces compositions peuvent être utilisées dans un procédé de traitement de gaz en vue de la réduction des émissions des oxydes d'azote.
