It is intended to provide a composition which contains a compound represented by the following general formula (I): wherein R1 represents 5-iodothiophen-2-yl, etc.; and R2 represents 4-dimethylaminophenyl, etc. Because of having a high specificity of binding to amyloid .beta.-protein, a high blood-brain-barrier permeability and an ability to quickly disappear from parts other than a senile plaque in the brain, the above compound is useful in diagnosing an amyloid-related disease such as Alzheimer's disease.
La présente invention concerne une composition qui contient un composé représenté par la formule générale (I) : [formule chimique 1] (I) dans laquelle R1 représente un 5-iodothiophén-2-yl, etc., et R2 représente un 4-diméthylaminophényl, etc. En raison de sa forte spécificité de liaison à la protéine amyloïde .beta., de sa capacité à traverser aisément la barrière hémato-encéphalique et de sa capacité à disparaître rapidement des zones autres qu'une plaque sénile dans le cerveau, le composé ci-dessus est utilisable pour diagnostiquer une maladie liée à la substance amyloïde telle que la maladie d'Alzheimer.
