COMPOSITION FOR DIFFUSION COATING OF FERROUS METALS Abstract of -the Disclosure A composition for a diffusion coating of ferrous metals contains a mixture of ingredients taken in the following ratio (% wt): titanium . . . . . . . 70.0 to 82.0 alumina . . . . . . . 14.5 to 20.0 ammonium halide . . . 2.0 to 5.0 graphite . . . . . . . 1.0 to 2.0 Graphite entering the composition intensifies formation of carbides and prevents formation of titanium nitrides in the coating. These factors promote an increase in corrosion resistance and permit coating application without a protective inert medium.
