COMPOSITION FOR DIFFUSION COATING OF FERROUS METALS Abstract of the Disclosure A composition for a diffusion coating of ferrous metals contains a particulate mixture of titanium in an amount of from 51.5 to 64.0% by weight, chromium in an amount of 17.5 to 24.0% by weight, alumina in an amount of 15.0 to 21.25% by weight, ammonium halide in an amount of 1.5 to 2.0% by weight, molybdenum in an amount of 0.75 to 1.5% by weight and boron in an amount of 1.0 to 2.0% by weight. The above ratio of titanium and chromium and an intro- duction of molybdenum and boron into the composition makes it possible to form a continuous film from titanium carbides on the surface of the diffusion layer, which increases cor- rosion resistance of a coating in highly concentrated salt solutions and in chloride containing media.
