Composition for impregnating porous materials, in which the composition contains at least one component having preservative properties or which releases a component having preservative properties on heating, the composition comprising an emulsion of water and oil containing a primary surfactant and an amphoteric additive, the pH of the emulsion being equal or approximately equal to the iso-electric point of the amphoteric additive. The compositions of the invention are particularly useful in the preservation of timber.
L'invention se rapporte à une composition conçue pour l'imprégnation de matériaux poreux, qui contient au moins un composant ayant des propriétés conservatrices ou qui libère un composant ayant des propriétés conservatrices lorsqu'il est chauffé. Cette composition comprend une émulsion d'eau et d'huile contenant un tensioactif primaire et un additif amphotère, le pH de ladite émulsion étant égal ou sensiblement égal au point isoélectrique de l'additif amphotère. Les compositions de cette invention sont particulièrement utiles à la conservation des bois d'oeuvre.
