The compounds of the invention are preferably encapsulated into multilamellar liposomes, which can be formed from phosphatidyl choline and phosphatidyl glycerol. The compounds are effective in activating human monocytes with subsequent destruction of tumor cells. These compounds have acceptable toxicity in anticipated human dosages.
