ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Different materials (glass, paper, etc.) may be coated with extremely stable and transparent thin films. An organic chemical solution is employed and super hydrophobic surfaces are obtained. The chemical solution is formed by an organic solvent selected among linear saturated hydrocarbons, bencene, toluene, dodecylbencene, electrostatic dispersants, bicyclohexyl and linear monoamides; an active compound selected among linear hydrogenated, perfluorinated or hydrogenated- fluorinated trichlorosilane molecules; in certain cases different stabilizers (methylene chloride, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride) and/or catalysts (pyridine, acetic acid) may be added.
