A composition for topical application to a part of the body comprises a local anaesthetic and optionally a vasodilator as active ingredient dissolved in a blend of volatile and non-volatile solvents of different solvating capacities for the active ingredient. The vasodilator may comprise glyceryl trinitrate and the local anaesthetic may comprises an anaesthetic of the aminoamide or aminoester type. The volatile solvent may comprise a mixture of water with a C1-C5 alcohol and the non-volatile solvent may comprise a polyhydric alcohol and optionally a glycol. A low-concentration vasodilator-containing composition is also described. The compositions allow a ~virtual injection~ of the active ingredient to be delivered transdermally without general systemic uptake.
L'invention concerne une composition destinée à être administrée par voie topique sur une partie du corps, contenant un anesthésiant local et, éventuellement, un vasodilatateur comme ingrédient actif dissous dans un mélange de solvants volatils et non volatils présentant différentes capacités de solvatation par rapport à l'ingrédient actif. Le vasodilateur peut comprendre du glycéryl trinitrate et l'anesthésiant local peut comprendre un anesthésiant de type aminoamide ou aminoester. Le solvant volatil peut comprendre un mélange d'eau avec un alcool C1-C5 et le solvant non volatil peut comprendre un alcool polyhydrique et éventuellement un glycol. L'invention concerne également une composition contenant un vasodilatateur à faible concentration. Les compositions permettent une "injection virtuelle" de l'ingrédient actif destiné à être administré par voie transdermique sans absorption systémique générale.
