Compositions having improved stability which, when applied to a variety of substrates and cured, form transparent coatings having superior abrasion resistant properties. The coating compositions are aqueous-organic solvent mixtures containing a mixture of hydrolysis products and partial condensates of an epoxy functional silane and tetrafunctional silane and a multifunctional compound selected from the group consisting of multifunctional carboxylic acids, multifunctional anhydrides and combinations thereof.
Cette invention se rapporte à des compositions dotées d'une stabilité améliorée qui, lorsqu'elles sont appliquées à divers substrats et polymérisées, forment des revêtements transparents possédant des caractéristiques supérieures de résistance à l'abrasion. Ces compositions de revêtements sont des mélanges de solvants organiques, aqueux, contenant un mélange de produits d'hydrolyse et de condensats partiels d'un silane à fonctionnalité époxy, d'un silane tétrafonctionnel et d'un composé multifonctionnel sélectionné dans le groupe constitué par des acides carboxyliques multifonctionnels, des anhydrides multifonctionnels et des combinaisons de ceux-ci.
