A composition for a roller for use in an electronic copier or a printer, which comprises a vinyl polymer (A) having at least one alkenyl group in a molecule thereof, and a roller manufactured by the use of the composition. A roller for use in an electronic copier or a printer is provided which can be directly coated with an alcohol-soluble nylon layer or the like, without a pretreatment such as application of a primer.
