The invention relates to therapeutic modalities and pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of Chlamydia-infection using cyclophilin polypeptides and its corresponding human cellular binding partner or partners as a target for intervention. The present invention relates to the use of exogenous or engrafted sources of cyclophilins, anti-cyclophilin antibodies, cyclophilin decoys, soluble forms of cyclophilin-binding partners and small molecules which are supplied extracellularly, and act presumably by interrupting the binding of cyclophilin A with its cellular binding partner(s) or receptor(s), as a treatment for Chlamydia-infection. The present invention further relates to screening assays for the identification of compounds that inhibit the interaction of cyclophilin and its Chlamydia binding partners.
L'invention concerne des procédés thérapeutiques et des compositions pharmaceutiques destinés au traitement d'infections par Chlamydia au moyen de polypeptides de cyclophilines et de leur ou leurs partenaires de liaison cellulaires humains correspondants servant de cible d'intervention. La présente invention concerne également l'utilisation, en tant que traitement d'infections par Chlamydia, de sources exogènes ou greffées de cyclophilines, d'anticorps anti-cyclophilines, de leurres de cyclophilines, de formes solubles de partenaires de liaison de cyclophilines, et de petites molécules approvisionnées de façon extracellulaire, et agissant de façon présumée par interruption de la liaison de cyclophiline A à son ou ses partenaires de liaison cellulaires ou récepteurs. La présente invention concerne également des analyses de criblage destinées à l'identification de composés inhibant l'interaction de cyclophiline et de ses partenaires de liaison de Chlamydia.
