ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A composition for use as a teat dip in mastitis control in cows comprises, in an aqueous medium: at least one quaternary ammonium compound having bactericidal activity, at a total concentration in the range 20 to 500 parts per million by weight of the composition; at least one water-soluble humectant at a total concentration in the range 2.5% to 30% by weight of the composition; and at least one emollient at a total concentration in the range 0.25% to 20% by weight of the composition.
