The invention pertains to a method of reducing scar formation during wound healing by administering a phos-phatidylserine -binding compound, in particular an annexin, to a subject in need thereof. The healing wound may be a skin dam-age, but it may also be a myocardium e.g. which is at risk of suffering or is recovering from a heart failure.
