Methods for prophylactic and anti-transmissivity uses of an anti-microbial composition are disclosed. The method comprise the step of administering to a mammal or a bird, and amount of a composition having a first ingredient obtainable from ginger; a second ingredient obtainable from green tea; an optional third ingredient obtainable from turmeric; andan acceptable carrier. When administered the composition is effective to reduce the incidence of contracting an illness or to prophylactically prevent transmission of an illness. Also disclosed are nasal and throat spray compositions for use in the methods of the invention.

La présente invention concerne des méthodes pour des utilisations prophylactiques et anti-transmission d'une composition antimicrobienne. Ces méthodes consistent à administrer à un mammifère ou à un oiseau une quantité d'une composition comprenant un premier ingrédient obtenu à partir de gingembre, un deuxième ingrédient obtenu à partir de thé vert, un éventuel troisième ingrédient obtenu à partir de curcuma, ainsi qu'un support acceptable. Une fois administrée, la composition permet de réduire l'incidence de la contraction d'une maladie ou d'empêcher de façon prophylactique la transmission d'une maladie. Cette invention concerne également des compositions de spray pour le nez et pour la gorge à utiliser dans le cadre desdites méthodes.
