Medicaments and methods for the treatment and/or amelioration of certain inflammatory symptoms related to premenstrual syndrome (PMS), premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), perimenopause, menopause, endometriosis, post- partum depression, or administration of hormonal contraceptives are described herein. Medicaments of the invention comprise a tocopherol, an omega-3 poly- unsaturated fatty acid, such as docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), or omega-9 polyunsaturated fatty acid, optionally, a flavonoid, and, optionally, a mineral, such as magnesium. Methods for treating or ameliorating such symptoms and methods for reducing elevated CRP and/or white blood cell (WBC) associated with such conditions using medicaments of the invention are also described.
L'invention concerne des médicaments et des méthodes de traitement et/ou de soulagement de certains symptômes inflammatoires relatifs au syndrome prémenstruel (PMS), au trouble dysphorique prémenstruel (PMDD), à la périménopause, à la ménopause, à l'endométriose, à la dépression post-partum ou à l'administration de contraceptifs hormonaux. Les médicaments selon l'invention comprennent un tocophérol, un acide gras oméga-3 polyinsaturé, tel que l'acide docosahexaenoique (DHA) ou un acide gras oméga-9 polyinsaturé, éventuellement un flavonoïde et éventuellement un minéral, tel que du magnésium. L'invention concerne également des méthodes de traitement ou de soulagement de tels symptômes et des méthodes permettant d'abaisser des taux élevés de protéines C réactives et/ou de globules blancs (WBC) associés à de tels états, au moyen de médicaments selon l'invention.
