A method of modulating hair growth by contacting selected cells with a selected growth-modulating molecule is provided. A method for hair reconstitution or transplantation by expanding selected cells in vitro and combining them with other cells that regulate hair growth are also provided. Compositions containing a growth-modulating molecule which is synthesized by follicular cells and which undergoes hair-cycle-dependent concentration changes in hair follicles are also provided.

L'invention se rapporte à un procédé de modulation de la croissance des cheveux, consistant à mettre en contact des cellules sélectionnées avec une molécule sélectionnée modulatrice de la croissance des cheveux. L'invention se rapporte également à un procédé de reconstitution ou de transplantation des cheveux par dilatation in vitro des cellules sélectionnées et par leur association à d'autres cellules qui régulent la croissance des cheveux. L'invention se rapporte en outre à des compositions contenant une molécule modulatrice de la croissance des cheveux qui est synthétisée par des cellules folliculaires et qui subit des variations de concentration dans les follicules pileux en fonction du cycle pilaire.
