A cosmetic treatment to combat acne vulgaris and to alleviate the effects of ageing of the skin comprises the daily adminis- tration in divided doses, of 2 to 20 g of pantothenic acid or a derivative thereof which gives rise to pantothenic acid in the body, 0.5 to 3 g of nicotinic acid or a derivative thereof which generates nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) or nicotinamide ade- nine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP) and 5 to 50 mg of biotin.
