The present invention provides recombinant viral vectors carrying a vector construct which directs the expression of a gene product (e.g., HSVTK) that activates a compound with little or no cytotoxicity into a toxic product. Also provided are methods of destroying or inhibiting pathogenic agents in a warm blooded animal, comprising the step of administering to the animal a viral vector such as that described above, in order to inhibit or destroy the pathogenic agent.
L'invention concerne des vecteurs viraux recombinés portant un produit d'assemblage vectoriel dirigeant l'expression d'un produit génique (ex. HSVTK) qui active un composé de peu ou pas de cytotoxicité et le rend toxique. L'invention porte également sur des procédés de destruction ou d'inhibition d'agents pathogènes chez les animaux à sang chaud qui consistent à administrer à l'animal un vecteur viral tel que celui susmentionné de manière à inhiber ou détruire l'agent pathogène.
