The present invention provides compositions and methods for increasing absorption of antibacterial agents, particularly third generation cephalosporin antibacterial agents, in oral dosage solid and/or suspension forms. Specifically, the composition is comprised of a biopolymer that is preferably swellable and/or mucoadhesive, an antimicrobial agent, and a cationic binding agent contained within the biopolymer such that the binding agent is ionically bound or complexed to at least one member selected from the group consisting of the biopolymer and the antimicrobial agent.
La présente invention concerne des compositions et des méthodes visant à augmenter l'absorption d'agents antibactériens, en particulier des agents antibactériens de céphalosporine de troisième génération, sous forme de doses solides et/ou en suspension administrées par voie orale. L'invention concerne plus spécifiquement une composition comprenant un biopolymère de préférence gonflant et/ou mucoadhésif, un agent antimicrobien, et un agent de liaison cationique contenu dans le biopolymère de façon que l'agent de liaison soit ioniquement lié ou complexé à au moins un élément sélectionné dans le groupe comprenant le biopolymère et l'agent antimicrobien.
