ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE 2-thiocyanomethylthiobenzothiazole, at least one suitable dispersant and at least one branched or straight chain alkyl- ester-alcohol are combined. Preferably, the composition also in- cludes an alkyl N,N-dialkyl amide, more preferably of a fatty acid. The composition can be used to inhibit the growth of a mi- croorganism.
