The invention relates to compositions with a starch and/or modified starch base containing plasticisers in the form of polyhydroxy carboxylic acids or lactones thereof, derived from aldoses and/or ketoses, especially from pentoses and hexoses. The inventive compositions can be processed thermoplasticalty to form biodegradable, physiologically harmless shaped bodies which can be used for packaging and covering food or pharmaceutical products, or for the controlled release of active substances, or for producing temporary skin-packs.
L'invention concerne des compositions à base d'amidon et/ou d'amidon modifié, qui contiennent comme plastifiant des acides polyhydroxycarboxylés dérivés d'aldoses et/ou de cétoses, notamment de pentoses et d'hexoses, ou des lactones desdits acides. Les matières selon l'invention peuvent être transformées de façon thermoplastique en corps moulés qui sont biodégradables et présentent une innocuité physiologique. Elles peuvent être utilisés comme emballage et enrobage de denrées alimentaires, produits pharmaceutiques ainsi que pour la libération contrôlée de principes actifs, et pour la production de revêtements protecteurs temporaires.
