Compositions for preventing urinary calculus caused by metal ions liberated from compounds containing heavy metals such as lanthanoid employed in image diagnosis or therapy. These compositions contain multidenate ligands capable of forming complexes with lanthanoid metal ion or other heavy metal ions or alkaline earth metal complexes of these ligands. As the multidenate ligands, use may be made of bifunctional ligands having polyaminopolycarboxylic acids or polyaminopolyphosphonic acids (EDTA, DTPA, DOTA, TETA, etc.) as the complex- forming site which are chemically bonded to physiologically acceptable oligosaccharides or the like. It is also possible to use polyaminopolycarboxylic acids or polyaminopolyphosphonic acids per se therefor.

L'invention concerne des compositions destinées à prévenir des calculs urinaires provoqués par des ions métalliques libérés de composés contenant des métaux lourds tels que le lanthanoïde utilisés en diagnostic ou en thérapie par imagerie. Ces compositions contiennent des ligands multidentates pouvant former des complexes avec l'ion métallique lanthanoïde ou avec d'autres ions de métaux lourds, ou des complexes de métaux terreux alcalins de ces ligands. on peut également utiliser des ligands bifonctionnels, comme les ligands multidentates, ayant des acides polyamino-polycarboxyliques ou des acides polyamino-polyphosphoniques (EDTA, DPTA, DOTA, TETA, etc.) en tant que site de formation de complexes chimiquement liés à des oligosaccharides physiologiquement acceptables ou analogues. On peut également utiliser des acides polyamino-polyphosphoniques per se à cet effet.
