The present invention, in one or more embodiments, comprises water-soluble derivatives of 3-n-pen-tadecylcatechol (poison ivy urushiol saturated congener) and/or 3-n-heptadecylcatechol (poison oak urushiol saturated congener) as compositions for the prevention and/or prophylactic treatment of contact dermatitis caused by poison ivy and poison oak. The present invention is also directed towards processes for making such compounds. Disclosed are compounds which are effective for tolerizing and desensitizing a subject against allergens contained in plants of the Anacardiaceae and Ginkgoaceae families comprising water soluble urushiol esters of general formula (I) Tolerizing and desensitizing mammals, including humans, to allergens contained in plants of the Anacardiaceae and Ginkgoaceae families is attained by administering a composition containing at least one water soluble urushiol ester compound.
Linvention concerne, selon un ou plusieurs modes de réalisation, des dérivés solubles dans leau de 3-n-pentadécylcatéchol (congénère saturé durushiol du sumac vénéneux) et/ou de 3-n-heptadécylcatéchol (congénère saturé durushiol de sumac à feuille de chêne) comme compositions pour la prévention et/ou le traitement prophylactique deczéma de contact provoqué par le sumac vénéneux et le sumac à feuille de chêne. La présente invention concerne également des procédés pour la fabrication de tels composés. Linvention concerne des composés qui sont efficaces pour rendre tolérant et désensibiliser un sujet vis-à-vis dallergènes contenus dans des plantes des familles Anacardiaceae et Ginkgoaceae comprenant des esters durushiol solubles dans leau de formule générale (I). Le fait de rendre tolérant et de désensibiliser des mammifères, y compris des êtres humains, à des allergènes contenus dans des plantes des familles Anacardiaceae et Ginkgoaceae est atteint par ladministration dune composition contenant au moins un composé ester durushiol soluble dans leau.
