The present invention relates to an aqueous odor-absorbing composition which is safe for use on human skin comprising from about 0.1 % to about 5 %, by weight of the composition, of solubilized, water-soluble, uncomplexed cyclodextrin; from about 0.5 % to about 30 %, by weight of the composition, of a linear dimethicone having a nominal viscosity of 350 centistokes or less; and an aqueous carrier. The compositions can also comprise one or more of the following optional components: low molecular weight polyols; water-soluble antimicrobial preservatives; zinc salts; water-soluble polymers; soluble carbonate and/or bicarbonate salts; chelating agents; zeolites; activated carbon; and mixtures thereof. The present invention also relates the use of the aforementioned compositions in reducing body, vaginal, and or environmental odors on skin. The composition can be applied directly as a spray, poured from a bottle and applied by hand, or applied via a wipe.

L'invention concerne une composition aqueuse destinée à absorber les odeurs, qui ne présente pas de danger quand elle est appliquée sur la peau humaine. La composition comprend de 0,1 à 5 % en poids environ de cyclodextrines hydrosolubles non complexées solubilisées; de 0,5 à 30 % en poids environ d'un diméthicone linéaire ayant une viscosité nominale de 350 centistokes ou moins; et un support aqueux. Les compositions peuvent également contenir un ou plusieurs composants optionnels suivants: polyols de faible poids moléculaire; conservateurs antimicrobiens hydrosolubles; sels de zinc; polymères hydrosolubles; sels de carbonate et ou de bicarbonate solubles; chélateurs; zéolites; carbone actif; et leurs mélanges. L'invention concerne également l'utilisation desdites compositions dans le but d'atténuer les odeurs corporelles, vaginales et environnementales sur la peau. Elles peuvent être appliquées directement sous forme de pulvérisation, versées d'une bouteille et appliquées à la main, ou appliquées par l'intermédiaire d'un tampon.
