Described herein are compositions for reducing or preventing the degradation of equipment and articles exposed to hydrogen sulfide present in high concentrations in subterranean environments (e.g., oil and gas wells). The compositions are composed of a thermoplastic resin, a thermosetting resin, or a combination thereof, and at least one compound that absorbs or reacts with hydrogen sulfide. In certain aspects, the compositions are coated on the article of interest. In other aspects, the composition is used to manufacture the article and, thus, is integrated throughout the article.

On décrit ici des formulations permettant de réduire et de prévenir la dégradation de l'équipement et des articles exposés au sulfure d'hydrogène qui est présent en concentrations élevées dans les milieux souterrains (p.ex., puits de pétrole et de gaz). Les formulations sont composées d'une résine thermoplastique, d'une résine thermodurcissable ou d'une combinaison des deux, et d'au moins un composé qui absorbe le sulfure d'hydrogène ou qui réagit avec lui.
