The present invention provides a composition and process using the composition for removing metal ions from aqueous process solutions. These compositions include a non-metallic compound and a suitable carrier. In one embodiment, the non-metallic compound is a thiuram. In another embodiment, the non-metallic compound can further include a dithiocarbamate. These compositions are contacted with the metal ions in the aqueous process solution having a wetting agent to form an organometallic complex precipitate. The precipitate can then be separated from the aqueous solution.

L'invention concerne une composition et un procédé utilisant la composition de retrait d'ions métalliques de solutions aqueuses. Ces compositions renferment un composé non métallique et un support adapté. Selon un mode de réalisation, le composé non métallique est un thiurame. Selon un autre mode de réalisation, le composé non métallique peut comprendre en outre un dithiocarbamate. Ces compositions sont en contact avec les ions métalliques dans la solution aqueuse présentant un agent mouillant afin de former un précipité complexe organométallique. Le précipité peut être séparé par la suite de la solution aqueuse.
