A water-soluble delivery system for nucleic acids to cells having androgen receptors, preferably prostate cells, is provided comprising a steroid moiety capable of binding to said receptors, said steroid moiety being covalently linked to a polycationic material. This molecule may be complexed with therapeutic or diagnostic nucleic acids. Methods of diagnosis and therapy using these compositions are also provided, including gene therapy treatments for prostate cancer.

L'invention se rapporte à un système d'administration, soluble dans l'eau, d'acides nucléiques à des cellules possédant des récepteurs androgènes, de préférence des cellules prostatiques. Ce système comporte une fraction stéroïdienne capable de se fixer aux récepteurs, cette fraction stéroïdienne étant liée de manière covalente à un matériau polycationique. Cette molécule peut être complexée avec des acides nucléiques thérapeutiques ou de diagnostic. L'invention se rapporte également à des procédés de diagnostic et thérapeutiques utilisant ces compositions, y compris à des traitements du cancer de la prostate utilisés en thérapie génique.
