ABSTRACT is invention relates generally to waste disposal receptacles and, more particularly, to the collection and transfer of organic kitchen waste. Kitchen waste is generally placed in a free-standing waste receptacle or in a unit located in the cupboard under the sink. Since the raising of our collective environment conscience, more people are wisely opting to separate organic kitchen waste with the intention of composting it. The compost process usually takes place in an area at the rear of the yard, well away from the kitchen. Whether people have gardens or not, it is becoming more important to separate compostable waste in the home rather than add to our already over-burdened landfill sites. By composting kitchen waste we not only become better citizens of the planet, we can enjoy better-looking lawns and gardens. We propose a receptacle for organic kitchen waste for storage and transfer to a compost bin. The "compost caddy" would cut down on the number of trips to the bin, provide an ideal use for recycled plastic and offer a convenient, hygenic, easy to clean and aesthetically pleasing receptacle. It eliminates the need for plastic bags and allows for countertop and under the sink models.
