The present invention relates to thermoplastic, water-insoluble and fully compostable cellulose ether esters which can be described by the general structure (I) (see fig.I) wherein cell-O represents the substituted radical of a hydroxyl group on the cellulose chain and B is a polymeric ether group having the structure (III) wherein E stands for an aliphatic, branched or unbranched chain with 2 to 4 C atoms, n is an integer from 1 to 5 and in the event that n equals 0 at least one of the groups A is a methyl, ethyl, benzyl, carboxyalkyl, sulphoalkyl or cyanoethyl group (see fig.II) and at least one of the groups A is a 2-hydroxycarboxylic acid having the structure (II) -(E-O)n- (III) D1 and D2 independently of one another stand for a hydrogen atom or a methyl or ethyl group, m stands for an integer from 1 to 10.
La présente invention concerne des esters d'éther cellulosique thermoplastiques, insolubles dans l'eau et entièrement compostables qui correspondent à la structure générale (I) (voir fig.I) où cell-O représente le radical substitué d'un groupe hydroxyle sur la chaîne cellulosique et B est un groupe éther polymérique ayant une structure (III) où E correspond à une chaîne aliphatique, ramifiée ou non, de 2 à 4 atomes de carbone, n est un nombre entier compris entre 1 et 5 et, dans l'éventualité où n est égal à 0, au moins un des groupes A est un groupe méthyle, éthyle, benzyle, carboxyalkyle, sulfoalkyle ou cyanoéthyle (voir fig.II) et au moins un des groupes A est un acide 2-hydroxycarboxylique ayant la structure (II) -(E-O)n- (III); D1 et D2 correspondent, indépendamment l'un de l'autre, à un atome d'hydrogène ou à un groupe méthyle ou éthyle, m étant un nombre entier compris entre 1 et 10.
