The objects of the invention are compostable polymer coated paper or paperboard (1), a method for making the same and products obtained therefrom. According to invention, a compostable biodegradable coating (3) of paper or paperboard (1) consists of an outer layer (6) containing polylactide the weight of which is at the most about 20 g/m2, and of an adhesive layer (7) that binds the outer layer to the paper or paperboard (1) and is of biodegradable polymer material that is coextruded with the polylactide. Suitable materials for the adhesive layer (7) are biodegradable polyesters. The production is by coextrusion of the polylactide layer (6) and the adhesive layer (7) on either one side of the paper or paperboard or on both sides thereof. Products obtained include in particular packages for food stuffs and disposable dishes such as containers for frozen foods, disposable drinking cups, heat-sealed carton packages and packaging wraps.
La présente invention concerne du carton enduit ou du carton (1) compostable à base de polymère, un procédé de fabrication de ces derniers ainsi que des produits obtenus à partir de ces derniers. Selon l'invention, un revêtement (3) biodégradable compostable destiné à du papier ou du carton (1) est constitué d'une couche externe (6) contenant du polylactide don't le poids maximum est de l'ordre d'environ 20 g/m<2>, et d'une couche adhésive (7) qui lie la couche externe au papier ou au carton (1) et qui est formée d'une matière polymère biodégradable coextrudée avec le polylactide. Les matières appropriées pour la couche adhésive (7) sont les polyesters biodégradables. La fabrication s'effectue au moyen de la coextrusion de la couche (6) de polylactide et de la couche adhésive (7) sur l'un ou l'autre des côtés du papier ou du carton ou bien sur les deux côtés de ce dernier. Les produits obtenus de la sorte comprennent plus particulièrement des conditionnements pour des produits alimentaires et des plats ou des couverts jetables tels que des récipients pour des aliments surgelés, des gobelets jetables pour boisson, des feuilles d'emballage et des emballages en carton thermosoudés.
