A method and an apparatus is provided for aeration of organic material, wherein the organic material undergoes an aerobic composting process, such that air is caused to evenly penetrate the organic material. The organic material is first sealed in a vessel. Air is then delivered to the contents of the vessel such that an air pressure of from about 1 to about 1000 kPa above atmospheric pressure is maintained in the vessel. A pressure differential initially forms and is then allowed to equilibrate over a period of time, in which time air flows from areas of high pressure to areas of low pressure in the organic material thus ensuring that aeration is evenly distributed throughout the organic material.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant l'aération de déchets organiques. Ce procédé consiste à soumettre les déchets organiques à un traitement de compostage aérobie, au cours duquel on fait pénétrer de l'air de manière uniforme dans les déchets organiques. Ces déchets organiques sont, dans un premier temps, mis sous scellé dans une cuve. Ensuite, on introduit de l'air dans le contenu de la cuve de telle sorte que la pression de l'air comprise entre environ 1 et environ 1000 kPa soit maintenue en-dessous de la pression atmosphérique dans la cuve. Une différence de pression se forme au départ, puis elle s'équilibre pendant un laps de temps durant lequel l'air circule depuis des zones de haute pression vers des zones de basse pression dans les déchets organiques, assurant ainsi l'aération uniforme de l'ensemble des déchets organiques.
