ABSTRACT A composting apparatus is disclosed which is directed to the composting of household and garden wastes. The invention concerns an hollow device with upstanding side walls which are impervious to fluids and with two types of adjustable, closeable, openings; for admitting air and for removal of compost. The air admitting openings are furthermore covered with mesh screens and both types of openings are arranged so that annoyance caused by insect and animal pests may be minimized.
