There is described a negative charge control agent for use in electroreprography which comprises one or more pyridones of Formula (I), which includes all electroreprographically effective forms of such compounds selected from one or more of the following (including mixtures thereof and combinations thereof in the same species): stereoisomers, zwitterions, polymorphs, solvates, isotopic forms; and salts thereof; where in Formula (I), p represents an integer from 0 to 3 inclusive; R1 represents one or more substituents selected from one or more of: hydroxy, mercapto, amino, nitro, sulpho, sulpheno, sulphino, carboxy, halo, cyano, optionally substituted C1- 30hydrocarbyl; and R2 represents optionally substituted C1-30hydrocarbyl.

L'invention concerne un agent de régulation de charge négative, destiné à être utilisé au cours d'un procédé d'électroreprographie, cet agent renfermant un ou plusieurs pyridones de formule (I): Cet agent comprend par ailleurs toutes les formes de ces composés pouvant être efficacement utilisées en électroreprographie, ces formes étant choisies parmi les stéréoisomères, les zwittérions, les polymorphes, les solvates, les formes isotopiques, et les sels de ceux-ci (y compris des mélanges et des combinaisons de ceux-ci dans la même espèce). Dans la formule (I), p représente un nombre entier variant entre 0 et 3; R?1¿ représente un ou plusieurs substituants choisis parmi hydroxy, mercapto, amino, nitro, sulfo, sulféno, sulfino, carboxy, halo, cyano, et hydrocarbyle C¿1-30? éventuellement substitué; et R?2¿ représente hydrocarbyle C¿1-30? éventuellement substitué.
