ABSTRACT "IMPROVEMENTS TO COMPOUND FILTERS", Invention Patent of An improved compound filter (10) is described, said filter being appropriate to avoid that formation or fraction sands that move into the interior of oil and gas production wells or water-collecting wells may penetrate the drilling string. The compound filter (10) comprises a long internal tube (11) fitted with long, length- wise-alternating slots (15), around which two bored tubes (12, 13) are positioned concentrically these two bored tubes defining an annular space (14) filled with sand of a given size distribution class. The bores tube of smaller diameter (12) is kept slightly distant from the contour of the internal tube (11) by means of shoulders (19) and the external tube (13) is welded to end nipples (18) fitted by means of threaded bushings (20) and covers (21) to said internal tube (11). The covers (21) are removable for cleaning of filter or replacement of sand and the external tube (13) is maintained in the concentric position by means of centering supports (24).
