ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A compound tool is made from a powder-metallurgically- prepared part, establishing the wear resisting zones onto which a carrier body is cast, preferably from steel. The novel method of preparing the tool permits more complex compound tools to be formed in an economical manner without the need for the separate parts to be accurately formed before attachment to each other.
