There are provided novel compounds of formula (I) wherein A represents an aromatic carbocyclic ring or a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic aromatic ring containing 1 to 3 heteroatoms which may be the same or different and are selected from O, N and S; X represents -(CH2)n- wherein n represents zero or 1; and R1, R2 and R3 are as defined in the specification, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, and enantiomers and tautomers thereof; together with processes for their preparation, compositions containing them and their use in therapy. The compounds are inhibitors of nitric oxide synthase and are thereby particularly useful in the treatment or prophylaxis of inflammatory disease and pain.

L'invention a trait à des composés représentés par la formule (I) dans laquelle A représente un noyau carbocyclique aromatique ou un noyau hétérocyclique aromatique à 5 ou 6 membres contenant de 1 à 3 hétéroatomes pouvant être identiques ou différents et provenir de O, N et S, X représente -(CH¿2?)¿n?- où la valeur de n est nulle ou égale à 1 et R?1¿, R?2¿ et R?3¿ sont, dans la formule (I), tels que définis dans le descriptif. Elle porte également sur les sels de ces composés, acceptables du point de vue pharmaceutique, ainsi que sur leurs énantiomères et leurs tautomères. Cette invention concerne, de surcroît, leurs procédés de préparation ainsi que des compositions les contenant et l'usage qui en est fait en matière de thérapie. Ces composés sont des inhibiteurs de la NO synthétase et sont, de ce fait, des plus utiles en matière de traitement ou de prophylaxie des maladies inflammatoires et de la douleur.
