There are provided novel compounds of formula (I), wherein A represents a benzo ring; a six membered heterocyclic aromatic ring containing 1 to 3 nitrogen atoms; or a five membered heterocyclic aromatic ring containing 1 to 3 heteroatoms which may be the same or different and are selected from O, N and S; and R1, R2, R3 and X are as defined in the Specification and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof and enantiomers and tautomers thereof; together with processes for their preparation, compositions containing them and their use in therapy. The compounds are inhibitors of nitric oxide synthase and are thereby particularly useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of inflammatory disease and pain.

L'invention concerne de nouveaux composés de la formule (I) où A représente un cycle benzo, un cycle aromatique hétérocyclique à six chaînons contenant 1 à 3 atomes d'azote ou un cycle aromatique hétérocyclique à cinq chaînons contenant 1 à 3 hétéroatomes qui peuvent être identiques ou différents et sont O, N ou S; et où R?1¿, R?2¿, R?3¿ et X ont la définition donnée dans les spécifications. L'invention concerne également certains de leurs sels pharmaceutiquement acceptables, de leurs énantiomères et de leurs tautomères, des procédés permettant leur production, des compositions les contenant et leur utilisation thérapeutique. Ces composés étant des inhibiteurs de monoxyde d'azote synthétase, ils conviennent particulièrement pour le traitement et la prévention des douleurs et affections inflammatoires.
