Use of at least one compound, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt or prodrug thereof, as an inhibitor of at least one .beta.-ketoacyl acyl carrier protein synthase operable in the fatty acid biosynthesis of endoparasites, which compound is of the general formula (I) where R1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, (cyano)alkylene, alkenyl, alkynyl, (alkoxy)alkylene, (alkoxy)alkenylene, (alkoxy)alkynylene, cycloalkyl, (cycloalkyl)alkylene, (cycloalkyl)alkenylene, (cycloalkyl)alkynylene, (heterocycle)alkylene, (heterocycle)alkenylene, (heterocycle)alkynylene, aryl, (aryl)alkylene, (aryl)alkenylene, (aryl)alkynylene, (arylcarbonylarylene)alkylene, (arylcarbonylarylene)alkenylene and (arylcarbonylarylene)alkynylene; R2 is alkyl or cycloalkyl; R3 is alkyl or cycloalkyl; and R4 is hydrogen or alkyl; including racemic mixtures and enantiomers of said compound when the latter is chiral, but excluding the racemic mixture of a chiral compound of formula (I) in which R1 is CH2=CH- C(CH3)=CH-, R2 is methyl, R3 is methyl and R4 is hydrogen.
L'invention concerne l'utilisation d'au moins un composé ou d'un sel ou promédicament pharmaceutiquement acceptable de ce composé comme inhibiteur d'au moins une synthase de protéine transporteuse de .beta.-cétoacyl acyles utilisable dans la biosynthèse d'acides gras d'endoparasites. Le composé selon l'invention correspond à la formule générale (I), dans laquelle R¿1? est sélectionné dans le groupe comprenant hydrogène, alkyle, (cyano)alkylène, alcényle, alcynyle, (alcoxy)alkylène, (alcoxy)alcénylène, (alcoxy)alcynylène, cycloalkyle, (cycloalkyl)alkylène, (cycloalkyl)alcénylène, (cycloalkyl)alcynylène, hétérocycle, (hétérocycle)alkylène, (hétérocycle)alcénylène, (hétérocycle)alcynylène, aryle, (aryl)alkylène, (aryl)alcénylène, (aryl)alcynylène, (arylcarbonylarylène)alkylène, (arylcarbonylarylène)alcénylène et (arylcarbonylarylène)alcynylène, R¿2? représente alkyle ou cycloalkyle, R¿3? représente alkyle ou cycloalkyle et R¿4? représente hydrogène ou alkyle, incluant des mélanges racémiques et des énantiomères de ce composé lorsqu'il est chiral, mais excluant le mélange racémique d'un composé chiral de formule (I) dans laquelle R¿1? représente CH¿2?=CH-C(CH¿3?)=CH-, R¿2? représente méthyle, R¿3? représente méthyle et R¿4? représente hydrogène.
