Compounds and methods for the diagnosis and treatment of Chlamydial infection are disclosed. The compounds provided include polypeptides that contain at least one antigenic portion of a Chlamydia antigen and DNA sequences encoding such polypeptides. Pharmaceutical compositions and vaccines comprising such polypeptides or DNA sequences are also provided, together with antibodies directed against such polypeptides. Diagnostic kits containing such polypeptides or DNA sequences and a suitable detection reagent may be used for the detection of Chlamydial infection in patients and in biological samples.
L'invention a trait à des composés et à des méthodes permettant de diagnostiquer et de traiter l'infection à Chlamydia. Lesdits composés contiennent des polypeptides renfermant au moins une partie antigénique d'un antigène Chlamydia et des séquences ADN codant lesdits polypeptides. L'invention se rapporte également à des compositions pharmaceutiques et à des vaccins contenant lesdits polypeptides ou séquences ADN, ainsi qu'à des anticorps dirigés contre lesdits polypeptides. Il est possible d'utiliser des trousses de diagnostic contenant lesdits polypeptides ou séquences ADN et un réactif de détection approprié, afin de déceler une infection à Chlamydia chez des patients et dans des échantillons biologiques.
